SON OF NANDHA ! காக்கைச் சிறகினிலே!- பாரதியார்.

Mahakavi Bharathiyar

Though Tamilnadu born Mahakavi Bharathiyar is known as National Poet, his thoughts and words were universal in nature, beyond region and religion, language and culture.  Themes for his creations are varied ranging from nature to human nature, insects, birds and animals to humans and super humans, plants to trees, earth to space beyond, Lord Vinayaka to Mohamed Prophet and Allah to Buddha to Jesus Christ to Jehova, India and Indus valley civilization to Israel to Islamabad and so on. He is undoubtedly a universal poet beyond compare!

It is in the fitness of things that his writing of prose or verse must reach the entire humanity through the medium of language and it may be and can be in English. Hence attempts are made to translate Bharathiyar’s works into English and present the same through my blog ENVIUS THOUGHTS. A few have been already published and I do hope to continue to the extent possible.

Today it is his famous song on ”நந்தலாலா”-Lord Krishna, son of Nandha.

Feathers of a crow   -Krishna’s black complexion      Green tree-Krishna’s greenish complexion

Sound waves                                                           Lord Krishna’s playing his flute.

f Fire in hand- feeling of warmth in touching Krishna!

In the feathers of a crow- son of Nandha- Thy

Black complexion is seen!                    (1)

In all the trees I see – son of Nandha- Thy

Bluish complexion is seen!                   (2)

In all the sounds I hear – son of Nandha Thy

If I place my fingers in fire – son of Nandha
