Singing in praise of woman and womanhood, the great national poet Mahakavi Subrahmanya Bharathiyar wrote
மாதவம் செய்திட வேண்டுமம்மா!
To be born as a woman
Great penance should have been done!
Yes; she alone can become a MOTHER, very personification of the Almighty.
“Mother is the most important person in everyone’s life. Without her, we can’t be here right now. She is the most caring and loving person in the world.”
In God’s creation most noble and significant creation is the LIVING BEINGS- men and women, birds and animals, trees and plants. It is indeed a great wonder that there is no world without MOTHER the creator of all!
It is in fitness of things that MOTHER is revered as GODDESS in all faiths and religions. All religions in the world keeps MOTHER in an exalted position in the hierarchy of family relationships.
THANKS SHRI HEMANT KHURANAJI for your excellent post in praise of MOTHER.
Being a member of WordPress Blogging community, re-blogging is a great appreciation of some posts which a blogger likes extremely. One such is that of Hemant Khurana which I reproduce below: in
“Greatness Of Mother”

A Man Once Asked GOD [saw]
To Whom He Should Show The Most Kindness.
” Your Mother”
” Your Mother “
” Your Mother “
“Heaven Lies beneath the Feet of Your Mother”
What is The Big Deal About Mothers Anyway?
Well Let’s See…
She Carried You in Her Womb For Nine Months.
Then She Gave You Birth Which is The Most Painful Thing Ever!
She Stayed Up For You All Night.
She Looked After You When You Were Sick.
She Loved You Endlessly.
She Nurtured You.
When The World Turned its Back On You,
She Was The Only Person There To Support You.
You Have To Do Nothing To Gain Her Love And Affection Because Her Love And Affection is Always There No Matter What.
Free Of Cost !
She Scolds You Because She Loves You And Wants The Best For You.
She is Always Trying To Protect You And That’s Why She Doesn’t Want You To Be Out Late At Night.
That’s Why She Doesn’t Want You To Hang Out With Certain Types Of People.
If You Think About it, it All Makes Sense.
You Say She Doesn’t Understand.
MAKE HER UNDERSTAND!
Talk To Her And Make Her Feel Loved As Well.
After All She Has Done For You,
She Deserves it!
One Thing You Can Always Be Sure Of is That Your Mother Will Be The Best Friend You Will Ever Have.
She Will Be Honest And Sincere.
She Will Not Expect Anything From You in Return For The Friendship
Just Your Love And Your Smiles.
When You Think You Have Grown Up,
You Think You Know The inside Outs Of Life,
You Really Don’t !
That is Why Your Mother Wants To Know What is Happening in Your Life.
She Doesn’t Mean To intrude.
Rather She Wants To Be A Part Of Your Life…
Again. To Be Your Guide,
To Be Your Mentor.
Instead Of Telling Her Off,
include Her in Your Life,
And Trust Me You Will Learn A Lot From Her!
You Will Come To Realize That You Have A Lot in Common With Your Mother.
From There You Can Start A Beautiful Relationship That Will Last A Lifetime !
Each Of Us Should Appreciate What We Have in Our Mothers.
They Are Our Teachers And Our Role Models.
Every Day With Them is An Opportunity To Grow As A Person.
Every Day Away From Them is A Missed Opportunity.
I love you Mum!
To me it does not appear to be an exaggerated version on the greatness of MOTHER!
Sri Sathya Sai Baba of Puttaparthi, a Divine incarnation talks about the greatness of MOTHER in the following words:
“Those who are on the spiritual path and who have love for their mother can accomplish anything in the world. Many grown up men belittle the role of their mothers, saying that they might have done them some good in childhood. They feel proud about their job and position. But they forget to whom they owe their position.
Adi Sankara got the blessings of Mother Parvathi as a young boy of seven years while doing worship to the goddess in the absence of his father. After getting the blessings of the goddess, he achieved great distinction in mastering all the Vedas and scriptures within a short period.
You have to offer your heart to God because He is the In-dweller of heart, while father and mother are only dwellers in home. Respect your parents with the Divine in your heart.
Tasting the sweetness of your mother’s love, offer your love to her and enjoy life.”
Such a great mother – a house wife – offers her prayer thus:(published in my prayer series at the beginning of my Blog ENVIUS THOUGHTS last year)
“Oh! Divine Mother of all creations
Blessed am I a tool for procreation
Enjoying life as housewife with high education
Which I use to teach my children
Who shall be responsible citizens
And serve the society with all devotion!
Bless me serve my neighbor well
Whose wards look up-to me to tell
All they need to stand with strength
And sharpen their mind and spirit in length
Grant me wisdom, love and patience
Make my sweet home abode of Providence!
Rightly my faith has taught me to keep mother as the first in the order of preferences for paying respects and reverence!
Yes; it is
“MATHA, PITHA, GURU, DHEYVAM”
Mother as the first followed by father, teacher and God!!!
It is indeed a pity and atrocity that even the so called ‘haves’ and ‘well read’, ‘strong’ and ‘affordable’ leave their MOTHER in their advanced age in the old age homes. The cultured and civilized society has no hesitation in condemning the attitude of such unscrupulous people.
Nothing can be worse than this “UNKINDEST CUT OF ALL”.
Today the EIGTH MAY-second Sunday of the month of MAY- is being observed as MOTHER’S DAY in many parts of the world. The day may vary from country to country but paying respects and reverences to mothers and mother like women and giving them gifts is a practice and celebration of MOTHER’S DAY is common throughout the world and rightly so.
Here is a case of GIFT to his mother! He is our 11 month old grandson Master Om, from a play school in Canada -since both the parents -Vision Scientists working in a Canadian University- has made out a gift to his mother and naturally any mother is delighted at the gift. Her delight finds an expression in the following words:
Let all those blessed with keeping mother at her advanced stage resolve to keep her happy and peaceful at all costs as we owe it to ourselves.
