Sri Aurobindo (15 August 1872 – 5 December 1950)
When my better half was alive till twenty second July in Two Thousand Fourteen
She found solace, at her brother’s instance, for woes in faith in a great Saint
Sri Aurobindo of Auroville-Pondicherry and used to visit quite a few times
He indeed a great Saint who attracted disciples from different countries!
Sri Aurobindo Ghose born on Fifteenth August Eighteen Seventy Two and alive
Till fifth December Nineteen Fifty- philosopher, yogi, guru, poet, and nice
Nationalist joining Indian movement for independence from British rule,
For a while was an influential leader who became a spiritual reformer pure,
Introducing his visions on human progress and spiritual evolution.
Studied for the Indian Civil Service at King’s College, Cambridge, England
Took up civil service works under the maharaja of the princely state of Baroda
And became increasingly involved in nationalist politics and revolutionary
Movement in Bengal. arrested in the aftermath of a number of bomb outrages
Linked to his organisation, but in a public trial where he faced charges of treason
Could be convicted and imprisoned only for writing articles against British rule.
Was released , following the murder of a prosecution witness.
In the jail, he had mystical and spiritual experiences, moved to Pondicherry.
Leaving politics for spiritual work. developed the spiritual practice – Integral Yoga.
Central theme of his vision was the evolution of human life into a life divine.
Believed in spiritual realisation that liberated man and transformed nature,
Enabling a divine life on earth. In Nineteen Twenty Six, with his spiritual disciple
Known to us today as “The Mother”, founded the Sri Aurobindo Ashram Auroville!
As a person of letters,he wrote The Life Divine, which deals with aspects of
Integral Yoga; Synthesis of Yoga, which deals with guidance to Integral Yoga;
And Savitri: A Legend and a Symbol,epic poem. Thousands stay in Auroville and Spend their lives in nobility which is Divinity. We invoke HIS grace and blessings!
