Here is a communication from my SPANISH POET FRIEND

Dear friend,

As you see, I have so many things to do that I even must work on Sunday.

Please find enclosed a somewhat ironical poem from a poet I know already many years and met last year in Vienna.

Please let me have your translation of this and also of Ithaca 758

ps I received an invitation for a poetry festival in Cuba in May. But I am too busy. If you are interested, I can recommend you. However, as you know, Cuba is a poor country, the organizers can’t pay the air ticket.

COMMUNICATION

Since for quite some time,

I neither send mails nor

messages when I feel fine.

We are not happy with that.

My friends answer when you

lie in the sun or swim in the pool

while we freeze and drown in the rain.

When you are miserable on the road,

at least we have the chance

to feel sorry for you, and with one stroke,

we immediately feel much better.

அதனால்

நாங்கள்  மகிழ்சசி  அடையவில்லை

கதிரவனில் படுத்திருக்கும் பொழுதோ

குளத்தில்

நீச்சல் அடிக்கும்பொழுதோ

எனது நண்பர்கள்

விடை தருவாரகள்

நாம் உருகி

மழையில் நனையும் பொழுது.   

சாலையில்  பரிதாபமாக

இருக்கையில்

உங்களுக்காக வருத்தப் பட
