August Eighteenth indeed a day poignant and sad! Unfortunate
The day that we lost one of the greatest sons of our Holy Mother
Bharath Matha. Yes memorial day of a leader par excellent
A path that he chose what he thought was ideal for our freedom!
A great son of Bharath-from Bengal-became Nethaji
A staunch patriot and for long disciple of Gandhiji
Both of course were for freedom from the foreign yoke
But differed in their approach to attain –way to make!
Indian nationalist and patriot he was
His defiant patriotism made him pass
A hero- to rid India of British rule
In world war two joined Japan-Germany pool!
Young Subhash held his radical thoughts not to Gandhi’s way
Was President of the Congress but felt uneasy on the way
Formed his Indian National Army to attain his goal
Goal of Indian independence by force as a whole!!
Tragedy he was snatched by the cruel hand of death
At age of forty eight tragic accident – in stealth
Gone-could not enjoy freedom of his motherland
His dream and goal with his own political stand!
Many strongly believed the story about his death
Yet there were many who doubted its veracity
Fact as of now is we do not have Nethaji with us
We remember him fondly on this day of his death.
Netaji’s Indian National Army.
My holy and great Motherland gave birth to several greats
To take care of hard won freedom and its democratic values
Great Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru as one such Prime Minister
Friend of the poor Chief Minister Kamaraj great and selfless worker!
Humble worker of the Congress movement under Mahatmaji
Born on Fifteenth of July in the year Nineteen Thousand Three
In the South of my sacred homeland-India that is Bharath
Led the State and the Nation in a variety of noble ways!
The greatest Chief Minister Tamil Nadu privileged to have
The finest King Maker of India ever seen and had
His selfless service and sacrifices made him the noblest
Ever remembered for eternity- let us seek his blessings!
June Eighteenth is the hundred and ninth anniversary a great man
A great simple, noble unassuming leader from Tamilnadu
Late P Kakkan, Tamil Nadu’s formidable leader and Indian
Freedom fighters. Kakkan’s rich legacy and history is sadly left
Languishing from the hearts of the people. Most unfortunate.
Look at his condition.“Then Tamilnadu Chief Minister MGR
Saw a woman among the morning crowd, got out of his car,
Went up to her and inquired about her husband. Invited her
To eat and said that a car would take her home. She was former
Congress minister Kakkan’s wife. Kakkan could not pay meager rent
Faced eviction from his government accommodation. Asking for a day’s
Time, his wife approached MGR who settled all rental dues from his
Personal funds. The next day, a government order announced free
housing to Kakkan, and granted a monthly stipend of RUPEES FIVE HUNDRED!
This continued to his family even after his death. Tamil poet Kannadasan said,
“Any party man would have to praise MGR for helping a martyr like Kakkan.’”
That was the condition of a former Stae Minister and that shows simplicity.
A revolutionary freedom fighter he was from Tamil Nadu
Not emotional he was but quite rational and sensible!
Unable to digest the atrocities committed on Indians
Decided to do away with a collector connected with
Jallianwala Bagh massacre! Shooting was a sure way
And he did it with all his determination, ended his life too!
Our holy Motherland India that is Bharath
Won its freedom in a hardway under the great son
Mahatma Gandhi who galvanized the Society
With his qualities noble sure victoriously!
Thousands from the East and West, North and South
Sacrificed their all for the nation including youth!.
One was the powerful Vanchinathan from the South
Whose memorial day is today observing worth.
Remembered for gunning dead Ashe, British Collector
In Maniyachi station in a train and later
Committed suicide avoiding shameful arrest.
Let us salute the hero of the Movement earnest
Chacha Nehru he was to every one and naturally to me
It was on Twenty Seventh nineteen sixty four the balmshell fell
Death of the greatest among the Prime Ministers,India has seen
Let us pay homage to that great and noble soul Mother India gave birth to!
Memories of our country’s first prime minister, Jawaharlal Nehru
Come to mind on this day –his fifty fifth death anniversary.a great writer
A keen nature lover. All his life, he remained in love with the mighty
Himalayas. the Doon valley was his favourite place for a holiday pretty.
Great man born literally with a silver spoon, first disciple
Of Mahatmaji and a freedom fighter fierce, Nehruji laid a strong
Foundation for India that is Bharat-our sacred homeland,
We reverentially pay homage to that builder of Modern India!
World thrives on the sacrifices of thousands of its sons and daughters
It is for the world to remember and follow their foot steps and serve!
Sacrifices for the family, society, nation and the world
In any form or mode- sacrifices sure deserve honor quite bold!
Eighteenth March is today National Supreme Sacrifice Day
To honor those who made tremendous sacrifices for the sake
And the good of others as well as those who sacrifice their lives
Every day for us.! The men and women in uniform who have lay
Down their lives protecting their country and communities. And those
Who stepped forward during times of crisis to rescue a stranger
Or a neighbor and gave the supreme sacrifice now and then.
These sacrifices don’t come in uniform often remain unsung.
An assassin is sung today- with a temple for him and books published
As inhumanly planned by some at the Center! The assassinated
Getting into oblivion- a paradox we see here in our
Holy Motherland India that is Bharath! Let us arrest the trend!
India that is my noble Bharath- got freedom after great struggle and sacrifice
In a non violent manner under the sterling leadership of great Mahatma Gandhi
Thousands of workers and leaders from East and West, North and South alll over
Sacrificing their all in their course! Greatness of Indian Independence Movement!
This day Eighth March is a holy day in that Sundara Sastri Satyamurti
An Indian independence activist and politician was born this day.
Known for his rhetoric and the leading politician of theIndian National
Congress alongside great persons from Tamilnadu Satyamurti regarded great!
He indeed was the mentor of Kamarajar, Chief Minister of
Tamilnadu for eight long years.Born in Thirumayam in the
