August Eighteenth indeed a day poignant and sad! Unfortunate
The day that we lost one of the greatest sons of our Holy Mother
Bharath Matha. Yes memorial day of a leader par excellent
A path that he chose what he thought was ideal for our freedom!
A great son of Bharath-from Bengal-became Nethaji
A staunch patriot and for long disciple of Gandhiji
Both of course were for freedom from the foreign yoke
But differed in their approach to attain –way to make!
Indian nationalist and patriot he was
His defiant patriotism made him pass
A hero- to rid India of British rule
In world war two joined Japan-Germany pool!
Young Subhash held his radical thoughts not to Gandhi’s way
Was President of the Congress but felt uneasy on the way
Formed his Indian National Army to attain his goal
Goal of Indian independence by force as a whole!!
Tragedy he was snatched by the cruel hand of death
At age of forty eight tragic accident – in stealth
Gone-could not enjoy freedom of his motherland
His dream and goal with his own political stand!
Many strongly believed the story about his death
Yet there were many who doubted its veracity
Fact as of now is we do not have Nethaji with us
We remember him fondly on this day of his death.
Netaji’s Indian National Army.
A revolutionary freedom fighter he was from Tamil Nadu
Not emotional he was but quite rational and sensible!
Unable to digest the atrocities committed on Indians
Decided to do away with a collector connected with
Jallianwala Bagh massacre! Shooting was a sure way
And he did it with all his determination, ended his life too!
Our holy Motherland India that is Bharath
Won its freedom in a hardway under the great son
Mahatma Gandhi who galvanized the Society
With his qualities noble sure victoriously!
Thousands from the East and West, North and South
Sacrificed their all for the nation including youth!.
One was the powerful Vanchinathan from the South
Whose memorial day is today observing worth.
Remembered for gunning dead Ashe, British Collector

And animals, plants and trees! Death of the humans thanks to -God of Death
And his ways are inscrutable indeed. Death by the terrorists’ bullet
Hindus or Sikhs or Muslims indeed condemnable and lamentable!
Mahatma Gandhi, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi all Indian greats
John Fitzgerald Kennedy-American President-all victims of terrorists.
May twenty first in Nineteen Ninety one cruelly killed in Chennai
For political purposes- atrocious and obnoxious.
Rajiv Gandhi the sixth Prime Minister of India for five years
Took office after the murder of his mom, Prime Minister Indira Gandhi,
Most youthful Indian Prime Minister at forty; was killed in
Tamil Nadu’s Sriperumbudur, addressing open gathering in help

All living beings humans and animals, plants and trees
On earth have to make exit one day –when is the question!
Humans get burnt or buried-tomb erected epitaph seen.
Fun or fact is that many plan their Epitaph in advance!
Shakespeare’s a great epitaph! After Gandhi what?
After Nehru who and what- keenly debated issues!
Nehru died- India and Indian society go on
Some inimical may feel we are better off sans Nehru!
“After me what” is the nagging question for some time now!
“Here lies the man who loved all and served all, helped ever
Hurt never! He left us orphaned!. His morning thoughts are missed!
Children with whom he played in the evenings lost their grand man!
His companion computer lies uncared and unused
His mind and body used to be in table twelve hours a day
His mementos and awards lie in grief in his pet room
God in heaven will be happy to have him in HIS lap!”

Tree In Our Colony. Photoed By S Swetha from our Balcony.
The All powerful Almighty my God created the world nice
With all living beings- man and woman, trees and plants, lakes and seas
All to play supplementary and complimentary role wise
For peace and harmony, joy and happiness, plenty of health =spice!
A beautiful almond tree is there among hundreds in my colony
Spreading its branches far and wide, grown quite tall full of leaves and fruits
Leaves in green become brown on age, wither and fall on earth
Like a man on earth on age withers and dies, later takes a birth!
But look at the young jawans fall dying to terrorism
The army men who guarded our Motherland in hard terrains
Butchered in Kashmir a couple of days ago-sacrificed their life precious
Withered leaves on the top and butchered men at the bottom-REST IN PEACE!
Fallen soldiers in Kashmir mourned by colleagues
Raghupathi Raaghava Raaja Raam
Pathitha paavana Seetha Raam
Ishwara Allah there naam
Sabko sanmathi dhey BHagwan
Raama Raama jaya Raajaa Raam
Raama Raama Jaya Seethaa Raam!

January- the day Mahathma Gandhi was assassinated by
A Cruel, brutal inhuman being who is sought to be idolized
After decades seven most unfortunate-to be criticized!.
