Prayer of a Housewife

Buy Painting Prayer Artwork No 15788 by Indian Artist Neetu Dewani

Oh! Divine Mother of all creations
Blessed am I a tool for procreation
Enjoying life as housewife with high education
Which I use to teach my children
Who shall be responsible citizens
And serve the society with all devotion!

Bless me serve my neighbor well
Whose wards look upto me to tell
All they need to stand with strength
And sharpen their mind and spirit in length
Grant me wisdom, love and patience
Make my sweet home abode of Providence!

ITHAKA POEM 20- WE SHALL MEET!

George Orwell Quote: “We shall meet in the place where there is no ...

WE SHALL MEET . . .

We shall meet after the end of world, you told me

When we’ll be just you and me, sunrise and sunset.

We shall meet after the end of the world, precisely

When we’ll be just we two, abyss clamoring abysses.

We shall meet when all things will pass through fire

And we’ll be ashes or we’ll be no more

We shall meet again when everything makes sense

Without understanding why I was what I was.

June 14th 2020- WORLD BLOOD DONOR DAY

World Blood Donor Day 2019: Current Theme and History

Rightly said, my Lord, blood is always thicker than water
Blood in red- has life and love, health and joy all that matter!
Blood less body, awaits transfusion or exit from earth
Bloodless war brought us freedom from the foreign yoke with mirth!

Blood donation and donor are doubly blessed- patient too
Life saving through blood donation voluntary to woo
The healthy and generous, blood and broad minded to help
The sufferers with love-seeking love in return valued wealth!

Theme for this year’s World Blood Donor Day is

Safe blood saves lives” with the slogan “Give blood and make the world a healthier place”. Indeed noble theme and message!

“Thank you for saving my life” says all those in need indeed!

“Give freely; give often, Blood donation matters all over
Strong and healthy need have no fear-God has given power!

Good Samaritan donors to continue frequently
Newer ones to start sans fear and worry quite timely
That saves the needy- known-unknown, good-bad, rich or poor sure
Group that matters and nothing else, my heart and soul quite pure!

May Day May First!

MAY DAY 2020 at Revolution Aberdeen, Aberdeen

“No strikes nor lock-outs, all concerned to work in peace and harmony
Workers- partners for plenty –sure not to bring in disharmony
No conflicts with peers and clients, up and down -treat all as equal
No dream but reality, the earth will be heaven- a marvel!”
Is my wish and prayer on this day an important day for all
MAY DAY -MAY FIRST is today- I was a worker for four decades
And more in my Alma mater -Life Insurance Corporation of India
Where I learnt the art of life and living! Great four decades indeed!

International Workers’ Day the first day of May- sacred day
My Lord! Thee created the world, humans and animals. I pray
Welfare of the working class – must for the welfare of Society
Sure whose welfare is a must for the welfare of the world’s safety!

May Day is celebrated for centuries all over the globe
Workers must unite and serve all and their duty is not to probe
Who is right and who is wrong but to be above board and devote
Their time for productivity greater which in turn helps promote!

Promoting peace and plenty, health and happiness on earth duty
My Lord! The guide and protector let me enjoy nature’s beauty
Enhancing my peace and joy, passing the same to my folks at home
I do assert for my rights, at the same time help the nation grow!

ONION IS NOT OXYGEN!

Onion is not oxygen!

We cannot live without oxygen but we sure can without onion! Prices cannot go up when onions begin to rot!

In the days of spiralling inflation, when the cost of living soars, when the prices of milk to maida, banana to brinjal, carrot to capsicum, mango to melon skyrocket day by day, the middle class people are the worst hit. Governments and the party in power say they make all-out efforts to contain the prices. Economists quote several factors for price raise. The Opposition parties protest government policies for the pathetic conditions of the people but secretly welcome the difficult times so that they can win the next elections.

Maybe, what cannot be cured must be endured! But I use to wonder whether there is anything in the world that cannot be cured. When I was in my teens six decades ago, I was living at Karaikudi, a part of Chettinad in Tamil Nadu, where the dominant community was indeed rich, orthodox, highly philanthropic and well educated. I used to go out with my mother to the weekly shandy and distinctly remember her purchasing the weekly requirements of vegetables for a family of five for less than a rupee. The womenfolk of that dominant community of Chettinad would boycott any shop in the shandy if the cost there was a little higher than in the other shops. The way they treated the shop keeper charging a higher price was unique and the result was that the town was comparatively cheap and life was smooth. All due to the ‘will to resist’ on the part of housewives.

Sixty years since then, when I find myself helpless managing my household expenses, I wonder whether bringing down the cost of things rests with the government alone or, as an individual, can I have any influence on the uncontrolled rising costs?

I remember my walking without footwear to college, a distance of 8 km. one way. Today, my son wants a scooter to go to school, hardly a kilometre away. Do I ever care to go by bus instead of my two/four-wheeler?

Do I resist purchasing onion at Rs. 80 or tomato at Rs. 50 a kg? Onion is not oxygen without which I cannot breathe! Supposing people do not purchase beans at Rs. 70 a kg, how long would the shopkeeper keep the vegetable on his shelves? — right from the wholesale merchant to my street vendor? If office-goers as a class desist using their petrol/diesel vehicles and choose public conveyance, won’t petrol price come down? If we boycott the auto drivers charging an unreasonably high fare, can they continue forever by fleecing the people?

Yes, onion is not oxygen! We cannot live without oxygen but we sure can without onion! Prices cannot go up when it begins to rot!

THis is the article I have reproduced as this WEEK”S SUNDAY STORY-1772nd Post  I am sure you – my esteemed viewers – will enjoy and give me your feedback. My mind has green memories of the REVIEW this paper made  of my TRANSLATION OF TELUGU  PANCHARATNA KEERTHANAS of Saint Poet THYAGAYYA into Tamil (available in the form of a CD -produced by the famous Carnatic music team of Madurai- vocal Smt. NEW CHILD NEW WORLD!

Kriston Fournier, of Vernon, Vt., looks at her newborn daughter Skyler Rae, as Savannah Squires, 4, holds her on Jan. 2, 2019.

Imagine for a while a world sans a single human being
In the great creation of the Lord Omnipotent beloved God
Equal and purposeful for peace and harmony all living beings
Humans and animals, trees and forests, lakes and tanks all are great!

A new child born in a home, a new world for the child and the home
Great it is the wonderful creation is seen and felt by both
Splendors and wonders Omnipotent alone capable of giving
All to enjoy in total peace and harmony, joy and sharing!

In perfect joy, both to dedicate for the cause of society
To repay the debt of gratitude to the Omnipresent-verily
To nurture and bring up the child in noble way to be an asset
For the home, society and the world- first and foremost must!

POEM 29

LOSE SIGHT OF MY TRUE BEING

He whom I enclose with my name is weeping in this dungeon. I am ever busy building this wall all around; and as this wall goes up into the sky day by day I lose sight of my true being in its dark shadow.

I take pride in this great wall and I plaster it with dust and sand lest a least hole should be left in this name; and for all the care I take I lose sight of my true being.

As I see this:

Who am I?I Raising the big question Bhagwan Ramana Maharshi gave his answer too! Who are we what is our nature, what is our aim, what is body, what is mind, what is spirit, what is spirituality- if find an answer, we cannot forget or refute our image!By God’s grace it is possible. Let us make efforts; let us not forget the same!

பெரிய சுவற்றை குறித்துப் பெருமைப் படுகிறேன்;
