Twenty Eighth December today a historic day of our holy
Motherland-India that is Bharath one hundred and thirty
Three years ago-the great Indian National Congress party
Was founded in Bombay- brought in a revolution-happy!

History was made to create a history- history of freedom
From the foreign yoke-under the noble leadership of Gandhiji
Uniting the entire India to raise in revolt with Ahimsa
Against British rule- weapon of NON VIOLENCE noble and divine!

Party continues as a force to reckon with-for a future bright
Evolution brings changes a lot -some great and some different
Nation has to go strong and united- united for ever
Possible only by a party with national outlook-parochial never.

It was first sung in Calcutta in the meeting of Indian National Congress on 27th of December in 1911.

National Flag, National Anthem, patriotism, love for Motherland
Make any Nation great- India that is Bharath-holy and sacred land.
Tricolor flag pride of this Nation-to be revered and respected
National Anthem so lovely brings out the greatness of this holy land!

Twenty seventh of December today  a landmark day in our national
History- the day on which National Anthem JANA GANA MANA
First sung in the Calcutta session of the Indian National Congress
Hundred and seven years ago-in nineteen hundred and eleven.

Nobel laurette Rabindranath Tagore’s was adopted as our Anthem
So inspiring and motivating to be patriotic and national
Minded- sought to be disrespected many a time-not to be allowed
Supreme respect to be shown for our great National flag and anthem.

Nation with hoary culture- India my holy Motherland
Fell into the hands of outsiders for long quite long and
Lost some valuable thoughts and nobility to be reclaimed
Under Father of our Nation after a long march to freedom!

Twenty Sixth of November is today an important day
In the history of our post independent Nation- holy day
National Constitution Day- years sixty nine ago
Drafted and adopted the Constitution of India!

On this day in nineteen forty nine Constituent Assembly
Adopted the Constitution of India, came into effect

Image result for national integration day 2018

Nineteenth November is today one of the holy days of India
Day the first woman Prime Minister of India was born-Indira
Great daughter of Bharathamatha laid down her life for unity
Observed as National Integration Day every year rightly!

Encouraging people towards unity, peace, love and brotherhood
Promoting harmony among our people despite diversity
Of the society in culture, languages, religions, geographical.
Bringing together the youths and others of religious back ground,
Social, cultural, economical and education to mix
Up with each other, understand and work as one group.

Developing better understanding among youths about diverse
Perceptions, faiths and life styles to strengthen the unity of people.
Indeed a fitting method to pay respects and gratitude to great lady
Brutally killed by a fellow citizen- atrocious. Jai Hind!

Children indeed are the assets of any home, society or the Nation
To be handled carefully in the interest of the future with passion
Health, education, behavior, conduct and character important
With all these in mind that great son of India made this day potent!

November fourteenth is this happy day when great son of India was born
To patriotic noble and rich parents in Kashmir Pandit family!
From ancestors down sacrificed their all for our Motherland happily
A grand disciple of Mahatma Gandhi made the Prime Minister rightly!

Nation was taken on the right direction for years seventeen strong
Had all love for children so much that he desired his birth day be
celebrated as CHILDREN’S DAY and we have it today joyfully!
Let us remember Panditji and tread his path for a great future!

Days rolled down fast and September 20th came and we boarded the Chennai -Vijayawada Shadapti Express and we were at Guntur by 13.30 hrs to be warmly  received by the Organizers and we were guided to a nice Hotel NANDURI RESIDENCY in Arundalepet.

About five hundred poets from more than 50 countries attended the Festival.

On 21st the session was devoted to Telugu poets. About 150 poets presented their Telugu poems. I also presented a Telugu poem titled “GEYANIKI REKKALU”- WINGS OF POESY English version is given below:

THROUGH THE WINGS OF POETRY

Oh! My beloved Mother Earth
Can you bless me with your hand

Verdant, fertile acre of land
Far from the madding crowd
Near the hillock and make me proud!
A well with sweet and copious water
A hut to protect from  Sun 0 a shelter
Spreading fragrance – plenty of jasmine
Smearing beauty through silky sunflower
Nectar filled coconut trees around me
Green lush lawn a treat to see!
Blessed with understanding spouse
To pursue the path of virtuous
Through the WINGS OF POETRY!
Dawn to dusk serving the cause of Nature
Thanking you for all they grace!
Oh! My beloved Earth
Providing life to all His creation
How do I show my grateful affection
Sure through bringing peace and amity
Love and kindness
Words and deeds
All in sweetness
All through the Earth!
In the night of 21st, there was a very lively session for poems in vernacular. It was indeed a great experience. I on my part presented the following Tamil poem:

t

TRANSLATION

TOWARDS PEACE!

Peace, peace, peace – lest

Perish, perish, perish.

Let us praise seeking peace- lest

Perishing we see suffering..

World seeks only peace – but

World sees only destruction.

Love and peace our breathing we say- but

What world sees is only struggle.

Great Buddha on earth

Lost his life for peace!

Jesus Christ  incarnate – he

Lost HIS life at the devil’s CROSS!

We sing in praise of Mahatma – yet

Have we listened to his views and voice?

In the name of LOVE he lost his life -beloved

Gandhi was shot to death!

He practiced walk towards peace

He practiced walk towards love!

We salute and sing in his praise- good

Peace we hold and lead our lives.

Let us walk in the path of leaders great

Even sacrificing all, let us  protect peace!

Next two days were devoted to English poetry and about 300 poets presented their English poems and I presented the following:

GLOBAL PEACE AND WAR!

                                                                                                                                    0

Ambassadors of Peace-the assembled poets

From all over the world reading the Festival notes!

Global Peace well in the hands of Ambassadors of Peace

On the pressures we exert on the powers itching with ease!

Ages and ages have seen War and Peace in turn

In times of war world thinks of peace

In times of peace world plans for war!

It’s the war that brings the best in man

All that leaves when the peace is in!

It is the war that keeps the nation united

And keeps the forces at bay that divided!

Lo! Paradox of war and peace!

Love and peace  voice of the world

What we see in this mad,mad world

Going hellward with nuclear mould

Seeking superiority with deadly hold!

Voice of war that was hot and loud

Sure should yield to the voice of peace

With fragrance of love all over the cloud

Bringing rain of joy and plenty ll with ease!

Goodbye to the miseries of the past

Welcome to the mysteries of the future!

Unfolding universal peace and warless world

Unbroken joy and fearless nations

Healthy people and artistic minds

Endless love and deathless humanism!

Poetic disposition and and peaceful possession!

All we need on earth

All we have to work with mirth!

Incidentally I was the only poet to have presented poems in three languages viz Telugu, Tamil and English!

The following poem was presented by S.Nivetha:

WINGS OF FRIENDS

We cannot gather al in one place

To have a wonderful joy and peace

All our fast and great memories on

Like that of the fast, moving fan.

Miles and miles to go walking with friends

The distance of those miles never ends.

Full of pleasure in joyous WINGS OF FRIENDS

Seen in all shapes and colors of kinds!

Love of the friend cannot be got from all

That flows through Niagara falls.

God creates and gives us great friends sure

For us to keep all our lives quite pure!

All the delegates were accommodated in different Hotels, Guest Houses, rest houses and fine arrangements were made to bring them on time to the Venue viz  Jagarimudi Lakshmiah Choudary Auditorium, JKC College, Guntur. A spacious A/c Auditorium.
