Every year there is a theme developed to observe this great day!
This year it  is “Sustainable shipping for a sustainable planet,”
Providing excellent opportunity to raise awareness of the
United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals  and to showcase
The work that the International Maritime Organization  and its Member
States plan to achieve the targets. theme provides means for leaders from
Various sectors, including shipping, to both reflect on the work done and
Urgent steps they further plan towards a sustainable future.

WORLD LION DAY 10th August!

Unfortunate indeed is the lion population is getting reduced  year by year!
Tenth August today is WORLD LION DAY!  aiming  to raise awareness of the
Majestic hunter, the ultimate feline, the king of the jungle, the big fluffy Kitty of the Serengeti… Hmm, better let us leave it at ‘king of the jungle’?

When I referred this day to  a ten year old, she asked is it LION DATES!!!!!!!
Celebration of the animal kingdom’s most beautiful and fearsome creature
Planned  by Big Cat Rescue, the world’s largest  sanctuary dedicated to it!
Today is a day for people to come together from across the world to
Pay tributes rich to the mighty lion in as many ways as possible.
Though a Fun and exciting occasion for all, it is based on a  serious matter:
Lion numbers have seriously declined to the point where the species
Is placed on the endangered list, just like its larger cousin the tiger.

Let us beseech the authorities concerned to take measures all possible
To protect LIONS from extinction and increase its population in the world!
Let us listen to the sound song of the LION and enjoy
One of the greatest creations of the Lord Almighty, the Omnipotent!

Forests help in tons in getting rain aplenty to the humans
We will not be too much  of off the track when we say no forest no rain!
In the fitness of things we observe World Rain Forest Day each year.
Today the Twenty Second of June WORLD RAIN FOREST DAY-nice occasion!

The first World Rain forest Day was observed in Two Thousand Seventeen
By Rain forest Partnership as a joint effort to raise awareness
And encourage action to protect the world’s rain forests. Rain forest
Partnership dedicated to protecting and regenerating tropical rain forests
Through community-based projects in the Amazon. to raise  awareness
Of the role of rain forests in stabilizing our changing climate.
Rain forests are vital for the survival of life on Earth. We depend
On them for one fifth of oxygen we breathe and the freshwater we drink.
They absorb our carbon dioxide, stabilize climate patterns, and
Are home to half the world’s plant and animal species.
Yet every minute, we lose forty football fields of rain forests,
That threatens our biodiversity and imperils our planet’s health.
Deforestation causes fifteen  percent of global carbon dioxide emissions
And accelerate climate change! Natural climate solutions like protecting
Restoring forests,  could reverse global emissions by a third.

World Rain forest Day helps to keep this precious natural resource

Forests and fields= beautiful houses and flats come in
Nature’s environmental beauty  gone for ever!

“What we are doing to the forests of the world
Is but a reflection of what we do well or bad
To ourselves and to one another”- Let us keep
Environment neat and safe for the world to flourish!

Very important is protecting trees aplenty
Planting trees here and there everywhere to get air
Fresh oxygen driving away carbon-di – oxide
For protecting our health and sick -less life!

World Environment Day is today the fifth June
To those enthusiasts a sacred day a boon
To raise the awareness of the environment
And issues connected all over permanent!

Let the world create strict discipline law needed
To ensure environmental protection -required
Any one found doing harm to environment
Is dealt with firmly with sufficient punishment!

It is heartening that our schools do have a subject called EVS
Environmental Science! Let it not be  for the exams and marks only
Let it be ingrained in the minds of the young students that remains

In the year 1984, Bachendri Pal became the first Indian woman and fifth woman in the world to reach on top of Mount Everest.

As I begin this week’s Sunday Story some proverbs come to my mind and in the top is:

“Water water every where, but not a drop to drink”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Though water is available in plenty, it is not drinkable!

A fish out of water Not feeling at home where you are.Blood is thicker than water Family is more important than anyone or anything else.Don’t make waves Don’t make trouble; do what others are doing.Don’t throw the baby out with the bath water When you’re making a change, save what matters to you and dispose off the rest.Don’t wash your clothes in public Don’t tell private things to people that you may not be able to trust.Dry up your drip Be quiet. Shut your mouth. Gone water does not mill anymore You should not pay attention to what is in the past. Let bygones be bygones. He is wet behind the ears He still has a lot to learn about life. In deep water In a place you are not feeling comfortable. It leaks water everywhere Something is not working properly. It is like drinking a glass of water It is very easy to do. It is raining cats and dogs It is raining extremely hard. No sweat No problem. Plenty of water ran under bridges So much time passed by. Rose water like Something not accurately worked out. Still waters run deep The quiet people can be the smartest and wisest. That is water under a bridge It is in the past now. The drop that makes a vase overflow Something is no longer bearable. They are like water and fire/ They are like devil and holy water These two people are absolutely contrasting. To be in bad waters To be in a difficult position. To discover warm water Something is very obvious. To have water up to the throat To have few chances to succeed. To keep water in one’s mouth To keep a secret. To lose oneself in a glass of water/ To drown in a glass of water To be easily discouraged. To make a hole into the water/ To pound water in a mortar Making vain attempts. To throw water on fire To cool down a hot matter. To work under water Hiding one’s real intentions. Water, water everywhere and not a drop to drink To be surrounded by things you make cannot use of. (There is so much salt water that you can’t drink. Only 1% of the earth’s water is fresh water. You bring water to the sea You take advantage of something. You can lead a horse to water but you cannot make him drink You can tell someone something but they will not do it or remember it. You draw water to your own mill You only act in your own advantage. You’re a sitting duck You’re open to danger. You’re in hot water You’re in trouble. You’re walking on thin ice You are close to getting in trouble. You trouble the water You make mischief.

World Water Day, is today the twenty second March is about focusing attention on the importance of water.

This year’s theme, ‘Water and Climate Change’, explores how water and climate change are inextricably intertwined.

Naturally as the world population grows, so does the demand for water, which depletes natural resources and damages the environment in many places. Solutions include protecting carbon sinks such as oceans and wetlands, adopting climate-smart agricultural techniques, and increasing the safe reuse of wastewater.Water is our most precious resource – we must use it more responsibly. We must balance all of society’s water needs while ensuring the poorest people don’t get left behind.

The World Water Day 2020 campaign explains statements such as:

• We cannot afford to wait. Climate policy makers must put water at the heart of action plans.
• Water can help fight climate change. There are sustainable, affordable and scaleble water and sanitation solutions.
• Everyone has a role to play. In our daily lives, there are surprisingly easy steps we can all take to address climate change.

Let us resolve on this day not to waste water as WATER is becoming a valuable commodity!

Let us take care of various  water resources and use them judiciously!

Water indeed is the elixir and nectar of life so essential for all living beings  including trees and plants. Let us conserve without wasting much!

Of late  I am developing  feeling that the BLOG is losing its sheen as indicated by a slowly reducing number of daily VIEWS by  the esteemed viewers of the Blog. What the number that stood far above hundred is gradually   coming down and hardly it reaches the HUNDRED MARK. It leads  me to an apprehension or MISAPPREHENSION weather time has come to close to put an end to the Blog. Let me see what the God wills. Third  March, the day of the adoption of the Convention on
International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora
In Nineteen Seventy Three, as World Wildlife Day,  proposed by Thailand,
To celebrate and raise awareness of the world’s wild fauna and flora.
And the day goes on all over the world quite in fitness of things!
World Wildlife Day has now become the most important global
Event World Wildlife Day this year with the theme “Sustaining all life ”

 

WORLD ENERGY CONSERVATION DAY- December 14th.

God gifted and nature provided ENERGY not to be frittered away
By any living being! Humans or animals- Energy needed for growth
And stability! Energy is in several forms- to be carefully conserved
