1st. July DOCTORS DAY

Doctors Day: DMA to honor doctors on June 30

July First is today observed rightly as Doctors Day- saviors of the sick
Not bothering about them, take care of the public at any time of the day
Especially in the CORONA pandemic time their sacrifice indeed is great!
Let us salute and respect and wish them a very happy DOCTORS DAY!

Oh! My Lord Almighty! Thy creations are great and wonderful
It seems creation of human beings in a mood quite vengeful!
Plethora of deceases and sickness Thee make them suffer with
Either suffer or get cured by thy grace and help of others a myth!

One of Thy compassionate creations is the medical men
Whom we call DOCTORS and adore them as next to God- Demi –God!
They give up their pleasures of life to save and comfort the sick men
No day or night, no sleep or rest- Gods in human form are indeed!

Today “Doctors’ Day”! A day to offer respects and compliments!
Alas! Of late we do go to these men sans medical ethics
For money they work, care little for those without-unfortunate
Have no knowledge and have no scruples, sick becomes sicker and die!

Oh! My Great Lord Almighty! Give them sense of justice on this day
Help us continue our faith in the medical men demy-Gods!
Give us good health to be free from the need to approach the saviors
We faithfully pray “May the tribe of the noble doctors  grow!

FARMER’S DAY – 17th January

None can give greater tributes to the farmers and Farming other than Tamil Saint  Poet Thiruvalluvar whose day was celebrated  on 16th including  a post in this Blog! The following ten couplets -chapter 104 of the Magnum Opus:

Farming though hard is foremost trade
Men ply at will but ploughmen lead                 kural 1031

Tillers are linch-pin of mankind
Bearing the rest who cannot tend.                 kural 1032

They live who live to plough and eat
The rest behind them  bow and eat.                 kural 1033

Who have the shade of cornful crest
Under their umbra umbrellas rest.                  kural 1034

Who till and eat, beg not; nought hide
But give to those  who are in need.                kural 1035

Should ploughmen sit  folding their hands
Desire free monks  too suffer wants.               kural 1036

Moulds dried to quarter-dust ensure
Rich crops without  handful manure.                kural 1037

Better manure than plough; then weed
Than irrigating , better guard.                    kural 1038

If landsmen  sit sans moving about
The field like wife will sulk and pout.            kural 1039

Fair good earth will laugh to see
Idlers pleading poverty.                            kural 1040
