Journalists and journalism form the backbone of a knowledge society
Their responsibility is very high and owe a lot to the world
To be dispassionate, unbiased and up-to-date and without prejudice
They indeed are great professionals serving the society in grand measure!

November Seventeenth-National Journalism day is today-nice day
During nineteen twenties, the writer Walter Lippmann and an American
Philosopher John Dewey, exchanged their views over the role of journalism
In a democratic society at a time when modern journalism
Was coming into practice.Clear it was journalism plays a role
Of mediator between the public and policy makers. performed
By the journalist who used to listen and record the message
Spoken by the elites. This message processed and conveyed to the public!

A difficult work it is yet they do it well in the society’s interest
On this day we wish them all well in their chosen selfless work=greatest!

Yes Sir, Ugadi Day, Gudi Padwa, the first Holy festival which marks the beginning of the New Year, new month and new day for the Hindus falls on Chaitra Shukla Pratipada. It is known as Gudhi Padwa (in Maharashtra), Ugadi (in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh). [In other parts of country it is celebrated during Nau Roz (Kashmir), Baisakhi (Punjab), Cheti Chand (Sindhi), Naba Barsha (Bengal), Goru Bihu (Assam), Puthandu (Tamil Nadu), Vishu (Kerala)] On this very day Lord Brahma created the Universe. Therefore for Hindus, this day carries special importance. We are also celebrating Chaitra Navratri from today :-

“God, Who is immanent, in His Grace takes pity on the loving devotee and manifests Himself according to the devotee’s development. The devotee thinks that he is a man and expects a relationship as between two physical bodies. But the Guru, who is God or the Self incarnate, works from within, helps the man to see his mistakes and guides him in the right path until he realizes the Self within.”

You have represented the tradition and his spiritual greatness, which is guiding millions of people.

Very noble series of notes, Sir.

8. 1 3/4/16.

Ramana Maharshi found that this spiritual existence is the only path that is truly satisfying. Nothing is more fulfilling than to unveil and discover ones real “Self”.

Nice note, Sir.

(9)

Many see the first day of April as a time to perpetrate pranks, practical jokes and even lies, in the name of “innocent fun.” Every year on April 1st, people around the world celebrate April Fools’ Day. Although customs and traditions differ, a common thread runs through the international celebration of this day.

Nice note, Sir.

“Water

Glistening and sparkling,

Shimmering, covering the earth,

Replenishing our thirst,

Helping us survive,

Water.

Falling from the sky,

Pelting the earth with drops,

Soaking up the heat,

Cleaning away the filth,

Water.

Filling the great oceans,

Stretching blue for miles,

Sheltering thousands in its murky depths,

Lapping up against the beaches,

Water.

Floating over the ocean,

Freezing to the touch,

Blindingly white,

Towering over the seas,

Water.”

Very relevant note, Sir.

(36) 12/4/16.

The common crow is an intelligent and adaptable creature. In a word one could describe them as opportunistic. Recent studies by ornithologists show that crows are among the most intelligent birds, along with other members of the Corvidae. Crows gather in groups from two to eight birds in the summer, while during the winter they gather from many miles in great nocturnal roosts of up to thousands of birds. During the day they fly up to fifty miles away from these roosts in search of food. During feeding, one of two crows can be seen on high perched places serving as a lookout for the rest of the flock. These sentinels watch for signs of danger and warn the rest of the flock. This behavior allows the rest of the flock to forage more efficiently. The crow’s call has variations that allow it to express warning, threats, taunting, and cheer.

OK, this needs for poetry on crow.

Nice note, Sir.

According to one concept, the beginning of the Vedic New Year presents with the unique opportunity to begin a new phase of existence with great achievements and self-growth through the energy of the Sun. The Sun moves into Aries, the natural 1st house of the zodiac, on April 14th, and this is considered the New Year, since it is based on the transit of the Sun into the constellation of Aries. It is said the creator Brahma started the act of creation on this day. From today, We have been able to harness the Sun’s energy to the fullest and use it efficiently.

Nice note, Sir.

(39) 15/4/16.

Rightly said Sir that, the precipitate decline in moral and ethical values, as well as the steep fall in standards of private and public conduct, in recent years, has been accompanied by a concurrent erosion of values amongst our countrymen.

Also, the moral foundation of punishment is a problematic issue which has prompted several competing views. One perspective is anchored in the principle of retribution: punishment is deserved in proportion to the seriousness of an offence.

And we must place all our faith, love and trust in God to get back the golden era of our country.

Nice and touchy note, Sir.

World Heritage defines the standards in our perception of our civilization and the natural world. The day aims to educate people about respectful coexistence: it promotes the appreciation of the world’s cultural and natural landscape in its diversity, importance, and beauty. By highlighting the outstanding universal value of unique parts of the natural and cultural environment, the concept of World Heritage emphasizes the need for the preservation of natural and cultural heritage for future generations and its protection from physical, aesthetic and conceptual threats.

So nice note, Sir.

Mahavir Jayanti, is the most important religious holiday for Jains. It celebrates the birth of Mahavira, twenty fourth and the last Tirthankara (Teaching God) of the present time cycle.

We must remember Mahavir Swami’s Thoughtful Teachings:-

“Always speak the truth

Control over oneself is very important

There is no point accumulating loads of wealth that you can’t even spend.

Be honest to all.

Follow the path of non violence.

Be compassionate towards living beings.”

Very nice note, Sir.

(41) 20/4/16.

Fresh water has a fundamentally beneficial influence on our lives as one cannot imagine life on the Earth without water. Water plays an indispensable role in our daily life as the large proportion of water is used for industrial and farming sectors. More awareness in people and advanced technology can only resolve water scarcity dilemma. Admittedly, people need to think wisely and act efficiently to preserve water.

Nice and relevant note, Sir.

(42) 21/4/16.

It was on this day that Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel addressed the first batch of civil servants in Independent India at Metcalf House where he referred to civil servants as the ‘steel frame of India’.

The day is observed by all Civil Services to re-dedicate and re-commit themselves to the cause of the people. It provides a unique opportunity for introspection as also chalking out future strategies to deal with the challenges being posed by the changing times.

Nice note, Sir.

There is the bad side also now-a-days. Relationships between civil servants and ministers may be marred by suspicion and mistrust. Ministers may suspect civil servants of continued loyalty to an earlier regime, or despise the work ethic and practices developed then. Civil servants may think ministers motivated by short-term political interest or naive about the problems of government. Either group may think the other corrupt. In present scenario, whole system is in question. Regards.

Our very survival directly depends upon the safety of our planet Earth. If it is not safe then our survival will also be unsafe.

So we must protect it. Let us save our motherland earth.

“It’s our earth.

Will we neglect it,

Or nurture it?

Will we tend it,

Or squander it away?

The choice is ours,

But if we’re going

To make a stand,

We should better start today.”

Nice note, Sir.

(44) 23/4/16.

The day is being celebrated to pay a worldwide tribute to books and authors, by encouraging everyone, young people in particular, to discover the pleasure of reading and gain a renewed respect for the irreplaceable contributions of those who furthered the social and cultural progress. The significance of the day also lies in its association with some such stalwarts of world literature.

“There is no end to education. It is not that we read a book, pass an examination, and finish with education. The whole of life, from the moment we are born to the moment we die, is a process of learning. So, the importance of books. There is no friend as loyal as a book.”

Nice topic, Sir.

Twelfth Night, Henry Fifth, Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth

Most significant day is today twenty third April

“WORLD BOOK DAY” to celebrate the books our great friends- with frill

Fine source of providing knowledge that is power-quite strong

Strong enough to steer us through thick and thin successfully!

“Tell me the books you read, I will tell you who you are!”

What a fine tool to assess who indeed am I -at par

With the noble and great in the world to spread joy and peace

Buy or borrow, read books of good value each day with ease!

Goddess of Learning Saraswathi lives on the heap of books

With HER  beautiful veena on hand -majestic she looks

Blesses all  those who read books worthy at all times with joy

On this day holy, let us resolve to  read books and enjoy!

BOOKS -the great source of KNOWLEDGE
