This Blogging has become a passion for me and as such I spend quite some time on this every day. I have already mentioned that looking at the statistics and recording the same in my diary has become a routine. Many a time, I ruminate about the purpose and the effect of my postings, how best to improve upon the theme, content and expression that can have a better impact over my esteemed viewers from more than 200 countries.
I used to analyze my earlier and past postings.
ABOUT A FEW VIEWERS

I gauge this from the responses I receive from my viewers and I am really proud that there are quite a few viewers who look for four a.m for the scheduled post appear on the screen! Out of the several, some are very vocal and express on a daily basis their views on the Blog. I thought it fit and interesting to others and hence consolidate and post as Sunday stories under different heads as below:
Viewer’s View of ENVIUS THOUGHTS (in several parts- of Shri OKR Sivanganam)
Voice of the Viewer on ENVIUS THOUGHTS (in a few parts of Shri Rajeev Jha from Bhagalpur))
A journalist’s view of ENVIUS THOUGHTS (of Shri Muthu Aiyer from Hyderabad)
Uthaya’s view on ENVIUS Thoughts (of Shri PH Uthayamurthy from Bangalore)
LICsian’s View on ENvius Thoughts (of Shri T Chandra Sekara Reddy from Kadapa)
Ramamurthi on Envius Thoughts (of Shri Ramamurthi from Bangalore)
Jagan on Envius Thoughts (of Shri Jagannathan from Chennai)
Prasad on Envius Thoughts (of Shri KVVS Prasad from Vishakapatnam)
“Consolidated comments of several viewers” (other than those referred to above) in two parts.

One Mrs. Elezabeth K Mona from Hyderabad appreciates every post and in particular posts on Special Days. She says “We gain a lot of knowledge in an interesting way by reading your posts. Thanks for sharing”.

While the responses are very positive and encouraging, inspiring and motivating, I have a feeling that further improvement is very much called for lest interest may gradually wane and fall into oblivion!

SOOTHING POSTS

Some of my posts do give me a sense of satisfaction as those particular posts appear to give a specific category of viewers some solace and a greater sense of anticipation of something good.
Some time ago, I wrote a PRAYER series out of which “A CANCER PATIENT’S PRAYER” is a regular lead by many and it occupies the TOP position of VIEWS TOPICWISE.
Yes total number of Views as of now is 16731 out 0r 89000. Almost 20%.
Second highest is again related to my post on CANCER- NATIONAL CANCER SURVIVORS’ DAY (USA) which has a view score of 8812 as of now- more than 10% of the total view.
There are Cancer Patients/Cancer survivors who find reading this post giving solace and comfort. I also pray for their wellbeing. With a heavy-very heavy-heart, I recollect my beloved wife suffering with cancer for a few moths and succumbing to the deadly decease on that fateful day 20th August 2014.

Great fund of statistics provided by WORDPRESS is indeed remarkable.

SUMMER IN CHENNAI
Summer in Chennai is awful-not less than 40 degrees in the last quite a few days. Practically confined to home- what else to expect from a person in his 76+ !!!!!!! Early morning walk, morning temple visit, post sunset a twenty minute outing to enjoy fresh air- away from the electric fan and the AC!

CELEBRATING THYAGARAJA

“Entharo mahanubhaavulu andhariki vandhanamu”
1767-2017.

One of the greatest Saint Poets Tamilnadu has seen is Thyagabrahmam- a great devotee of Lord Rama on whom the poet has written and sung hundreds and hundreds of keerthanas in Telugu is 250 years now.
He was serving Rama and spent all his time in Ramasmarana having been born in 1767. He was born in Tiruvarur and spent his time on the banks of THIRUVAIYARU- in Thanjavur district.
I happily recollect the appreciation my Tamil translation of Thyagayya’s Telugu PANCHA RATHNA KEERTHANAS- FIVE PEARLS OF HIS OFFERINGS- first of its kind in Tamil- from our former President Dr. Abdul Kalam who visited the house of the musicians who brought out the CD of Tamil keerthanas, asked them to sing, had dinner with them in Madurai.

Dr. Abdul Kalam with the musicians in their Madurai residence.

A detailed story you can read from the archives of ENVIUS THOUGHTS here in https://nvsr.wordpress.com under the caption “A GREAT DAY WITH DR. ABDUL KALAM”. I am glad that the Tamil version is being rendered in many places including US. It is all the will and gift of Goddess of LEARNING SARASWATHI.
During the 4 day Thyagabramma festival being conducted on the banks of the CAUVERY river in Thiruvaiyaru a holy and sacred village near Thanjavur in Tamilnadu( where I started my career as A MATHEMATICS-ENGLISH teacher in the year 1961-62 in the centenarian School ) musicians from all over the globe participate –including John Higgins of yesteryear from US.-
Thanks my dear viewers, I stop for the part 17 of the TALE.

RELIGIOUS FAITH AND PRACTICE-EXCELLENT EASTER

Resurrection (24).jpg

Great indeed is the Universe and its Creator-the Lord Almighty-Omnipotent, Omniscient and Omnipresent.

Naturally when the Universe was created, He should have created all living beings-men and women, trees and plants, forests and hills, mountains and valleys,  seas and rivers, waterfalls, lakes and tanks for their use! As the human beings progressed from his prehistoric days, he should have been given the knowledge of God and religion, religion-its purpose, practice, significance, importance, need to practice and so on. There are theists, atheists, agnostics, rationalists, believers and non believers of the existence of God. God and religion are for those who believe-it is a matter of one’s personal faith and belief- no discussion, no debate,  no argument on this.

From the days of “sanathana dharma’ called Hinduism to the latest founded religions it is something  great have and a long and checkered  history.

Mormonism 1820, Bahai 1860, Jehovah’s Witness 1870,  Christian Science 1879, Oneness Pentecostalism 1914, Rastafari 1930, Nation of Islam 1930, Gnostic Christianity 1945, Scientology 1952, any neo-Pagan cult X

“Genderuism”

A religion where men and women are separate entities and don’t need each other. The main agenda or the thought behind this religion is that both men and women are self sufficient in themselves and don’t need anyone else.
And it is alarmingly growing large.
Wicca (founded c. 1949), Asatru (founded c. 1972), the Church of All Worlds (founded c. 1967), and Ár nDraíocht Féin (founded c. 1982).There are others more recent.

Arician Tradition founded by Raven Grimassi, 1998.

Every religion is based on some beliefs or other aiming at promoting peace and harmony, joy and happiness, making the followers to “love all, serve all”, “help ever, hurt never’ in the world and humanity.  Yet it is unfortunate that the world has witnessed several religious wars and conflicts.

We have religious festivals based on sound logic and reasoning, history and practices which often we fail to understand, appreciate and absorb. It is a pity that we have not fully understood our own religion but make efforts to criticize others!

Any religious Festival for that matter, depends in the intense faith and belief in the concept and idea, A lack of belief can lead to a simple observing as a ritual.

Today is a great Festival for our Christian friends all over the world. Yes today it is EASTER FESTIVAL

Easter or Resurrection Sunday, is a festival celebrating the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, described in the New Testament as having occurred on the third day of his burial after his crucifixion by the Romans at Calvary c. 30 AD. It is the culmination of the Passion of Jesus, preceded by Lent (or Great Lent), a forty-day period of fasting, prayer, and penance.

Most Christians refer to the week before Easter as “Holy Week“—it contains the days of the Easter Triduum, including Maundy Thursday, commemorating the Maundy and Last Supper, as well as Good Friday, commemorating the crucifixion and death of Jesus. In Western ChristianityEastertide, or the Easter Season, begins on Easter Sunday and lasts seven weeks, ending with the coming of the fiftieth day, Pentecost Sunday. In Eastern Christianity, the season of Pascha begins on Pascha and ends with the coming of the fortieth day, the Feast of the Ascension.

Easter and the holidays that are related to it are moveable feasts which do not fall on a fixed date in the Gregorian or Julian calendars which follow only the cycle of the sun; rather, its date is determined on a lunisolar calendar similar to the Hebrew calendar. The First Council of Nicaea (325) established two rules, independence of the Jewish calendar and worldwide uniformity, which were the only rules for Easter explicitly laid down by the council. No details for the computation were specified; these were worked out in practice, a process that took centuries. It has come to be the first Sunday after the ecclesiastical full moon that occurs on or soonest after 21 March, but calculations vary.

Easter is linked to the Jewish Passover by much of its symbolism, as well as by its position in the calendar. In many languages, the words for “Easter” and “Passover” are identical or very similar. Easter customs vary across the Christian world, and include sunrise services, exclaiming the Paschal greetingclipping the church, and decorating Easter eggs (symbols of the empty tomb) The Easter lily, a symbol of the resurrection, traditionally decorates the chancel area of churches on this day and for the rest of Eastertide. Additional customs that have become associated with Easter and are observed by both Christians and some non-Christians include egg hunting, the Easter Bunny, and Easter parades. There are also various traditional Easter foods that vary regionally.

My revered God and Father beloved gone from the world,
Sadness and sorrow engulfed the world, left orphaned-He was bold
And said: Father forgive them, they know not what they do- how kind
When slapped on one cheek. He said “show the other too”- love bound!

The possession greatest He was, had come back to us this day
To redeem His saddened and grieving followers in the right way
Died for our sins, resurrected on the third day,for ascension
To Heaven-great was my Father-Jesus Christ-no pretension!

Fasting on the days preceding the holy day of resurrection
Thinking of Him and focusing on duties-pure meditation
With a firm resolve to LOVE ALL and SERVE ALL-all our lifetime
We celebrate the Easter festival for the whole living time!

Yes; Lord Krishna and Lord Rama of the Hindus displayed the significance of sufferings, the way to take the things in life inevitable; may be paying for the sins committed in our past lives and to be careful in not repeating in this life and that will ensure the next life free of sorrows and sufferings!
Having been blessed to be born as human beings on this holy earth, let us believe in religion and its practices and follow honestly to the extent possible to help a society peaceful and harmonious, joyful and pleasant. The Omniscient Almighty is bound to grant what we pray for.

“More things are wrought by prayer than the world dreams of!”

-Alfred Lord Tennyson.

JOURNEY TO FREEDOM Part VI

Jallianwala Bagh Massacre 13th April 1919

Nature of any invader is to keep under his control
The country and its people to the extent possible central
In view and never caring for the ways and means horrible
The British were human beings and their strategies terrible!

India’s long journey to freedom was awful and hazardous
The Invaders’ actions of repression was indeed atrocious
Many were met with the weapon of non violence-can’t forget
One was on this day in nineteen nineteen-Jallianwala Bhag.

Heinous Dyer and his troops fired indiscriminate on poor
Pilgrims for Baishaki festival-purely religious and social
Several hundreds wounded and a few hundreds died-atrocious
Gandhiji led a non-cooperation movement precious.

SRI RAMA NAVAMI TODAY

Image result for Images for Sri rama navami

All the religions of the world are great preaching peace and friendship
Joy and harmony promoting prosperity in great kinship.
Alas, men in their arrogance and shortsightedness do misuse
Nobility and wisdom to stop this menace, make love profuse.

The oldest religion of our Holy and sacred Motherland
Has gifted ideals great, personalities noble in heartland
Gods, emperors-deemed divine incarnations many born and spread
Virtues and values for all young and old, small and big to tread!

Lord Rama hailed by authors of Ramayana-the epic great
Was born on this day and indeed a great day to observe neat
Dedicating ourselves to the path and guidance provided
To make the society and the world a heaven created!

A THING OF BEAUTY!

Image result for Images for a thing of beauty-a joy for ever.

A THING of beauty is a joy forever:
Its loveliness increases; it will never
Pass into nothingness; but still will keep
A bower quiet for us, and a sleep
Full of sweet dreams, and health, and quiet breathing. 5
Therefore, on every morrow, are we wreathing
A flowery band to bind us to the earth,
Spite of despondence, of the inhuman dearth
Of noble natures, of the gloomy days,
Of all the unhealthy and o’er-darkened ways 10
Made for our searching: yes, in spite of all,
Some shape of beauty moves away the pall
From our dark spirits. Such the sun, the moon,
Trees old and young, sprouting a shady boon
For simple sheep; and such are daffodils 15
With the green world they live in; and clear rills
That for themselves a cooling covert make
’Gainst the hot season; the mid-forest brake,
Rich with a sprinkling of fair musk-rose blooms:
And such too is the grandeur of the dooms 20
We have imagined for the mighty dead;
All lovely tales that we have heard or read:
An endless fountain of immortal drink,
Pouring unto us from the heaven’s brink. 24
John Keats (1795-1821)
Poets are immortal and their poems are eternal! Almost three hundred years for the immortal poet John Keats but his lines are ever ringing in the ears of the poetry lovers and that indeed is his greatness!
A Standard English dictionary will give the meaning of the word “BEAUTY” thus:
A combination of qualities that pleases the aesthetic senses; a combination of qualities that pleases the intellect or moral sense; an excellent specimen; an attractive feature; an advantage; a beautiful woman.
There are very many derivatives from this word:
Beau- Beaufort scale- beau monde- beaut- beauteous- beautician- beautiful- beautifully- beautify- beautification- beauty parlor- beauty queen- beauty sleep- beauty spot- beauty treatment!

I am not an Englishman nor I can claim a good knowledge of the language- but I do love the language and enjoy its beauty- written or spoken, prose or verse. Here are the synonyms and antonyms of the word BEAUTY:.

A few years ago I wrote a poem and now I recollect the same titled “BLESS ME WITH THOSE EYES” which is reproduced below quoting Keats:

‘A thing of beauty is a joy for ever’
Words of Keats one can forget never
What is beauty – beauty is where
One can enjoy here and there, everywhere!
Grecian urn a beautiful piece
Niagara Falls a beautiful place
Silver streaks of water brings us peace
Hills and dales sure nature’s grace!

Does beauty lie in the objects seen
Or lie in the eyes of the seer keen?
Beauty seen in the scorching Sun
Beauty felt in the biting cold
Beauty heard in the melody of birds
Beauty smelt in the fragrance of rose
Beauty tasted in the bitterness of neem
Beauty found sure in every mean(s)!

‘Beauty is truth and truth beauty
That is all what ye know on earth
And what all ye need to know’
Words of Wisdom
From votary of beauty
And a devotee of Almighty!

Creator of noble beauty
Harbinger of peace and piety
Bless me with those eyes and mind
Beauty in ugliness that they can find!

Beauty of the mind and beauty of the soul
Sure makes one the wholesome whole!

Reflecting the same sentiments I wrote another poem titled “Marvel is Thy Creation” which is quite relevant for this Sunday story.

Hills are lovely, Dales are beautiful
River is lovely, fishes are beautiful
Sea is lovely, waves are beautiful
Sky is lovely, stars are beautiful
Tree is lovely, flowers are beautiful!

Beautiful is the sky lark, lovely is the peacock
Beautiful are the birds, lovely are the animals-deer’s and dogs!

Beautiful nature is always beautiful
Oh! It is all Thy wonderful creation!

Even
Rain is lovely, fire is beautiful
Storm is lovely; volcano is beautiful
Thunder is melodious, lightning is pleasing!
Nature’s fury is a thing of beauty!

Bed of roses and scent around it
Blade of grass and dews upon it
Rise of moon and stars above it
Oh! It’s all the marvels of Thy creation!

Here is a child with crippled foot
There is a boy with cruel mind
Here is a man with dishonest deeds
There is a woman with a lustful eyes!

He has eyes, yet blind
She has ears, yet deaf
She has hands, yet lame
Yonder Thou art witnessing all!

Mend their ways or end their deeds
Make them honest – make them healthy
Help us live in peace and amity!

NIGHT IS BRIGHT

Night Is Bright
Dark and bright
Part of life
Matter of mind!

Pitch darkness
Has no permanence
Nor has brightness!

Darkness scares
The one who cares
Not the one who dares!

When you walk through
Darkness melts true
As a faithful crew!

Blaming darkness
Brings not brightness
Helps not progress!

Day is dark
When eyes are shut
Night is bright
When vision is strong!

Dark and bright
Part of life
Matter of mind!

Since a thing of beauty is a joy forever, we need joy to be free from stress and strain, tension and tears, let us develop a mind and vision to see beauty in everything and everywhere- in all things animate or inanimate, seen or unseen, heard or unheard, smelt or un-smelt, written or spoken, prose or verse, felt or un-felt!
“Heard melodies are sweet and those
Unheard are sweeter!”.
According to the great Hindu philosophy, every individual born is incarnation of Shiva and is ever blissful.
“Aham brahmmasmi”- I am Brahma.
“Sivoham Sivoham” – I am Shiva I am Shiva.
“Anandoaham, aanandhoham”- I am happiness, I am happiness.
“Sathyam, Shivam, Sundaram”- Truth, Peace and Beauty.
“Aanandamayakosam”- This is ‘blissful body and its sheath”.

Beauty is TRUTH and Truth Beauty and hence SATHYAMEVA JAYATHE-NA ANRUTHAM” – Truth alone triumphs and not falsehood.

Bye for the day!
